Friday and Saturday Pedaling

04/01/2011 07:27
A huge weekend of riding and racing has just passed for FFi Racing. Wth DG Cycles closing early on New Years Eve, Mick and Owen, along with Charlie and Tom Gascyone, Anton Lyner, Ian Reed, Mason Manwaring and Richard Martin headed out for a nice casual jaunt. Heading up the steps and down the Pinnacle, all negotiating the adverse road conditions on the decent and out to Borenore. Manwaring, Martin and Lyner had a big gap heading into the Borenore township for the 50 sprint but a big turn by MacPhillamy brought the bunch back together although it could be argued that Tom Gascyone was...

FFi Racing Training Ride

30/12/2010 13:09
FFi Racing held a training ride this morning, heading out from DG Cycles to do one of the local riding loops. A good turn out of 13 riders headed out for the Pinnacle loop. Wit a nice steady pace set heading out of town there was no need to fear getting dropped on any of the rolling climbs between the edge of town and the base of the Pinnacle. Several creek crossings (running across the road) and plenty of rough road greeted the bunch as they made their way towards the Tea House and the start of the climb. There were also several sore legs after some big k's being done over the last few days...

Wednesday Night Airport Dash

29/12/2010 00:00
A small number of riders fronted up for the OCC Airport Dash between Christmas and the New Year. A big scratch bunch, although fielding some weary (and sunburnt) legs with Rod Farrell, Scottish tourist Fin, Owen, Mick and Grant Roe decided to take it easy on the way out and give Anton, Laura and Dave a good head start and only reel them in on the homeward stretch. Grant decided to patrol the back of the bunch for most of the ride out and back, with Fin and Mick struggling at first having completed 140km earlier in the day while Owen was finding his legs after spending much of the last...

FFi Racing and Wednesday Night

23/12/2010 07:18
Wednesday night rolled around again, and saw only one representative of FFiRacing make it to the Orange Cycle Club's Airport Dash. Good numbers otherwise turned up for the last ride prior to Christmas. At the Block Bunch's request, Mick started solo 1.30 behind Charlie, Adam, Shakey, and Foxie. With the block bunch just visible heading out of the dipper as Mick entered it, it was going to be a tough chase once it flattened out when the advantage swings in favour of the rolling bunch over the lone ranger. Fortunately, Mick continued to make inroads into the block bunch's advantage and...
